NESCO Buys Bristol County Electrical

Needham Electric Supply (NESCO), Canton, Mass., has acquired the assets of Bristol County Electrical Supply, Taunton, Mass.
Needham Electric Supply (NESCO), Canton, Mass., has acquired the assets of Bristol County Electrical Supply, Taunton, Mass. Bristol will now operate as Needham Electric Supply.
Founded in 1974, Bristol County Electrical Supply is a privately held electrical distributor serving primarily residential and commercial contractors in the greater Taunton area. Marc Barney has been named branch manager and will continue to manage the day-to-day sales and operations.
In a press release announcing the acquisition Gregory Wilson, NESCO’s president said, “We are thrilled to add our fourth branch location in southeastern Massachusetts and to welcome Marc and his team to the Needham Electric family. We look forward to bringing greater levels of service to our customers in this area and to new business opportunities.”
In the past four months, Needham Electric Supply has added nine new locations through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. In addition to the Bristol County Electrical acquisition, in February the company opened new branch in Hudson, N.H., and acquired GTM Electric Supply, St. Albans, Vt.; and in Dec. 2012 the company acquired Laconia Electric Supply, Laconia, N.H., which had six branches and a lighting showroom.  Wilson said in a note on the NESCO website that the company also plans to open a new location in Springfield, Mass., in the next 90 days.
The 27-branch NESCO was ranked #91 in Electrical Wholesaling’s most recent ranking of the Top 200 distributors.
