Electrical People: Parian to retire from NSi, Van Oss retiring from Wesco and more

NSi Industries (Huntersville, N.C.): Randall Parian has elected to retire from the company at the end of November. Parian served in various leadership positions with the company for 25 years and over 40 years in the electrical industry.

NSi Industries (Huntersville, N.C.):  Randall Parian has elected to retire from the company at the end of November.  Parian served in various leadership positions with the company for 25 years and over 40 years in the electrical industry.  During his career, Parian actively participated in many electrical association events, was instrumental in building the sales strategy at NSi Industries, and most recently served as company president.  According to Axel Rasmussen, chairman of the board and company founder, “Randall played a huge role in helping NSi grow throughout his years with the company by his knowledge of the industry, our products and his approachable style. He will be missed by the entire organization but has certainly earned the time to focus on his family and other interests.  Randall leaves a legacy not just within NSi but also within our industry.”

Bruce Bittner, CEO, said in the press release, “Randall’s guidance and counsel during the transition in leadership over the past couple of years was invaluable, both to me personally and to our entire leadership team.  As we move into the next growth cycle for NSi Industries, we will take this knowledge and infuse his passion into everything we do moving forward.”

CapitalTristate/Sonepar (Hagerstown, Md.): Jim Glenny was promoted to area manager of CapitalTristate’s Hagerstown operating area. He joins a group of seven other company area managers. Glenny started his career at Tristate Electric in 1994 where he worked his way from the Gettysburg, Pa., counter to inside sales in York, Pa.,  and then to an outside sales position in the Lancaster/Reading area.  He moved to Yale Electric in 2001, working for 10 years as an outside salesperson in the Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Chambersburg and Hagerstown areas.  Glenny joined CapitalTristate in 2011 as the branch manager in Mechanicsburg, Pa. He attended Harrisburg Area Community College, the University of Industrial Distribution program at Purdue, and he has been involved in the 2015 CapitalTristate Mentor Program. 

WESCO International Inc. (Pittsburgh, Pa.): Stephen Van Oss, senior vice president and COO, will be retiring from the company at the end of the year.  As part of WESCO’s efforts to streamline its management structure, his position as COO will not be replaced.  John Engel, chairman, president and CEO, said in a company press release, “I want to personally thank Steve for his many contributions to WESCO during his more than 18 years with the company, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

World Electric Supply/Sonepar North America (Charleston, S.C.): Pat McClure will become president of Sonepar’s World Electric Supply, effective Dec. 31. He is currently senior vice president/general manager for the Hagemeyer North America/Industrial Distribution Group and brings over 25 years of experience in the electrical and industrial markets. Fifteen of those years have been in leadership roles within Hagemeyer North America/Industrial Distribution Group.

Forest Lighting (Atlanta): Keith Hinze is now director of sales for the company’s South Central region which includes Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana. His electrical and lighting experience includes sales and operating positions with Graybar, Colonial Lighting Supply, All-Phase and World Lighting & Design. He will be based in Houston and will call on electrical distributors, ESCOs, contractors, utilities and end-users on behalf of the Forest Lighting portfolio of LED lighting products.

Forest Lighting is the USA subsidiary of MLS Co., Ltd. of China, one of the 10 largest LED manufacturers in the world, according to IHS Technology. The company has experienced 20% annual growth, has 12,000 employees, and annual revenue in the $2 billion range. MLS recently purchased 10.91% of the outstanding shares of stock with $2 billion in annual revenue. It was listed on the Shenzhen stock exchange in March. Kaistar, with approximately $84 million in annual revenue, provides LED wafers, LED packaging and LED lighting products to the global market. In July 2015, Kaistar acquired US-based Bridgelux, whose intellectual property includes 750 patents in LED chips and package technologies.

Omni Cable (West Chester, Pa.): Brad Cook was promoted to Tampa regional manager and will focus on continued growth in this Florida market. Prior to this new role, Cook was the manager of Omni Cable’s corporate sales center. He has over 30 years of wire and cable experience. He received his degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M University.

Solais Lighting Inc. (Stamford, Conn.):  Solais, a manufacturer of specification-grade LED fixtures and lamps and a division of PowerSecure International Inc., has appointed Rob Limroth senior vice president of retail national accounts and Keith Sullivan as director of West sales. An industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the lighting industry, Limroth has held sales positions with Amerlux, Juno Lighting, Lightolier and Acuity Brands. He most recently served as vice president of national accounts, Eastern Region for Intense Lighting.

In his new role at Solais, Limroth is responsible for driving the company’s national retail sales activities through the specification, distribution and end user channels while supporting the company’s’ strategic-planning and product-development functions. Prior to joining the Solais team, Sullivan spent 25 years with Fitch, an international architectural and design firm that focuses on the retail, restaurant and hospitality segments.
