Electrical People: Trolander joins Independent Electric executive team

New officers at NEMRA and NAW; AD gets a new Latin America VP; Service Wire makes several new hires; and Bender joins Wiseway Supply.

Independent Electric Supply (Somerville, Mass.): Bob Trolander is now V.P.  of sales and a member of the company’s executive team. He spent 29 years at Graybar Electric, most recently as director of sales for New England with responsibility for the construction and industrial markets. His focus will be to work with the inside and outside sales representatives in conjunction with the lighting and gear departments to drive share within the company’s existing customer base in addition to expanding into new customers and markets.

Affiliated Distributors (Wayne, Pa.): The buying /marketing group announced that Daniel Tatini joined AD’s Electrical Division as V.P. and managing director of Latin America effective Feb. 1. In this new position, Tatini will be responsible for all AD operations in Latin America, including business strategy, member/supplier relations, and delivering overall financial results. Most recently, Tatini was COO of Sonepar South America, and was responsible for business operations and supplier relations across five companies. He earned has BA in mechanical engineering from Universidad Mackenzie, Brazil, and a master’s in operations from Chalmers University in Sweden. In addition, Tatini studied in an Executive Development Program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Service Wire (Culloden, W.Va.): Kerith Grooms is now serving customers in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. She joined Service Wire after three years as a manager of corporate and government travel for a travel agency. In the Phoenix office, Shane Williams is now serving Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii. Williams joined the Service Wire team with over 12 years of experience in the wire and cable industry on both the distribution and manufacturing sides.

In the Service Wire’s Houston office, David Garansuay is now the business development manager. Garansuay is serving customers in Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and western Missouri. He has 10 years of electrical and industrial sales experience. Also in Houston, Tiffany Cook is now handling New Mexico accounts, in addition to serving southern and eastern Texas. Cook joined Service Wire in April 2012 after earning a marketing degree from Sam Houston State University.

Wiseway Supply (Florence, Ky.):  Bob Bender is joining the company as V.P. of its Electrical Division. He spent 28 years at Graybar, most recently as sales director, a position where he worked through local managers to assist in managing over 80 sales reps covering 20 sales territories. While his primary focus and responsibilities at Wiseway will be the management and growth of the company’s Electrical Division, Bender will be looked to as a strong contributor to Wiseway’s leadership team.

National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW) (Washington, D.C.): Richard Schwartz, chairman of the board, Winsupply, Dayton, Ohio, took the helm as chairman of the NAW Board of Directors during the association’s recent Executive Summit in Washington, D.C. He succeeds Manuel Perez de la Mesa, president and CEO of Pool Corp. Covington, La. Perez de la Mesa will remain active on the NAW board as immediate past chairman.

National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (NEMRA) Portsmouth, N.H.: At its recent annual conference, NEMRA elected its 2016-2017 board of directors: Tim Klinger, I-PRO Inc., Denver; was elected chairman and Brian Gardner, A.A. MacPherson Co., Canton, Mass,. took the post of chairman-elect.
