They've reasonably been called space heaters that happen to give off some light, and lighting manufacturers have said they'd like to get out of the business of manufacturing them, but incandescent lamps still hold a warm spot in the hearts of a group of Republican Congressmen. Senator Mike Enzi of Wyoming is advocating for a bill that would repeal the Energy and Independence Act of 2007 requiring all lamps producing certain amount of light to cut energy use by 30 percent, beginning with 100W in 2012.
